Dear Younger Me,

Have you ever had one of “those” conversations?

You know what I’m talking about, right?

Well, let me invite you into what it looks like:

The first requirement is a great environment. A comfortable and classy environment.

The type of environment that would embody the warmth of a fire pit with the class of a fancy bottle of whiskey.

Have you ever been in one of those environments?

The second thing is a friend. A friend whose interests expand beyond cars or girls or sports.

A friend who is willing to ask and think through deep and interesting questions.

Do you have a friend like that?

I was lucky enough to be an environment with a friend that fit both of those criteria this week.

And I want to share one single truth that came from it.

A truth that is almost counterintuitive to the conversation.

It was counterintuitive because of how many incredible topics were covered:

• Growing million dollar businesses

• Artificial intelligence in therapy

• Emotional vulnerability as a man in 2024

These are just a few of the wide variety of topics were discussed with my friend in that environment.

But only a single truth amidst a multitude of topics.

I originally thought to share key takeaways that I had from one or many of those conversations because they are worthwhile to share with you, Younger Me.

However, there is one truth that stood above it all.

That’s right. Only one topic amidst a plethora of really good ones.

It is a truth that I’ve already revealed to you…

Did you catch it?

Always look for environments and friends that foster conversations that make you better than you were before the conversation.

Go find that environment.

Go reach out to that friend.

The conversations that come may just make you a better human than you were before.
