A Big Update

Dear Younger Me 2.0

Dear Reader,

I’m sorry for the delay. I can explain.

A few weeks ago, I sent you this letter in which I briefly mentioned that I received a ~potentially~ life-changing email.

Sure enough, an email led to a Zoom call, which led to a job offer, which led to the following letter I sent you two weeks later, where I explained that I was leaving my job.

So it’s time to let you in.

I did a 180.

I went from being an entry-level staff accountant at a successful CPA firm (that I enjoyed, by the way)…

To an apprentice and Director of Content for Ben Meer.

I could not be more excited.

Ben is a master of his craft: audience building and system living.

He’s taken his expertise to become the fastest-growing LinkedIn creator.

Beyond that, he is a great human being.

Sure, I may be a little biased (he did hire me, after all), but he saw some potential in me and asked if I would join him as his apprentice and Director of Content in building the leading media brand for self-improvement and systems living.

As someone who has always valued mentorship, mentoring others, and learning to be the best version of myself, how could I say no?

This past week was kick-off training, and let’s just say Ben and I have some exciting things in store.

This may also explain why this letter is arriving a few days late.

But I am so grateful to all of you who have been reading, encouraging, critiquing, and helping improve this newsletter better since I launched it just over a year ago.

I also see it fair to let you know that this letter will be taking a slight pivot.

Don’t worry; you will still be receiving a letter from me once a week.

It just won’t be on Fridays.

And it will be a little more “focused.”

I want you to know that I aim to make this letter worth the 5 minutes you spend reading it.

I want it to be more actionable.

So, every Thursday, I will share one actionable piece of wisdom that I learned during the week from being on the ground floor of a fast-growing media company.

The topics may vary in genre and category, but I will promise you this:

You will get authentic and actionable tips from someone (me) apprenticing under a master (Ben) of his craft.

Don’t worry, the letters will still be called “Dear Younger Me.”

I don’t think you’re going to want to miss them.

So that’s where I’ll leave you.

Thanks for following along so far.

Thanks for sticking with me for the journey ahead.

Best,

Tommy
